Media Facade Lights Up CITIC Plaza Urban Light Show Embraces National Games in Guangzhou The CITIC Plaza in Guangzhou — a 391 m, 80-story skyscraper — stands prominently on the city skyline, symbolizing Guangzhou’s modern rise. In June 2021, to celebrate the 100th anniversary of CPC founding, Media Facade® installed a monumental lighting system on CITIC Plaza using its MF-C53 pixel-light technology. 250,000 long-distance powered LED point lights were precisely arrayed around the tower façades and podium. Using DC-DC long-distance power supply — with single-end power input up to 80 meters — the system ensures stable, safe, and sleek lighting across a super-tall building. Since commissioning, the nightly light-show runs from 19:00 to 21:00, turning the tower into a glowing icon and making “Joyful Moments, Charming Yangcheng” a living promise. With the 2025 15th National Games held in Guangzhou, this lighting installation becomes more than decoration — it merges with the city’s festive spirit and international celebrations. Against 391 m of city skyline, dynamic light effects and the energy of the Games combine to deliver a breathtaking visual spectacle, celebrating Guangzhou and China together. Through this project, Media Facade demonstrates how architecture, light, and urban memory can unite — turning a skyscraper into a cultural landmark. It underscores our capabilities in super-tall building lighting systems, and reinforces our mission: to bring more city landmarks to life, to let light speak for urban identity, and to make landmarks the calling cards of their cities.

MEDIA FACADE at MAB25: Summary of a Landmark Week From 18–23 November 2025, Bangkok hosted the Media Architecture Biennale 2025 (MAB25) — a global gathering where leading architects, designers, technologists and cultural visionaries explored the future of media façades, urban interaction and digital public space. As the Main Sponsor of the Media Facade Awards, Media Facade Group® was honored to contribute to this premier event that shapes how cities tell stories through light and media. Our awarded project, Urban Screens: Panda Tower (Chengdu, China), was recognized for its bold integration of culture, architecture and media-lighting — embodying our commitment to building immersive landmarks that reflect identity and innovation.
